Yuri Marchenko

Yuri Marchenko is a Legal Officer, based in MDAC’s Budapest headquarters. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Belarusian State University in 1996. He also holds an LLM in Comparative Constitutional Law from Central European University, Budapest and is currently completing his doctoral dissertation at the same university.

Yuri was a visiting researcher at the University of Amsterdam and the TMC Asser Institute. He also completed a number of advanced courses in international human rights, including a summer course on human rights law at the Academy of European Law, European Institute University, and a summer course on human rights organised by the School of Human Rights Research, Utrecht University. Prior to joining MDAC Yuri worked as a Legal Intern for the Open Society Justice Initiative. At MDAC Yuri is responsible for our work in Russia and Estonia.
