Vanja Bakalović

Vanja Bakalović is MDAC’s Croatian Legal monitor. She is hosted by the Association ‘Svitanje’ (Sunrise) in Zagreb where she has been working on the project “Bridging the Gap: Civil Society Promoting Access to Justice for People with Mental Disabilities in Croatia“. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Croatia and passed her bar exam.

Vanja started her career in criminal and civil law as a trainee at the office of law, after which she moved into property law at LS Property, an independent property development and investment management group. In addition, she has been a volunteer for many years as a member of the training team in the NGO ‘Hrabri telefon’ (Brave telephone) where she provides legal advice in the field of family law, children’s welfare and criminal and civil procedures related to family and children’s issues.
